Joe & Mike Rossons 1941 BSA WM20 Pinup #5
I thought Steves immaculate Early war WM20 was going to be a hard act to follow, and indeed it is, but here's another
very nice WM20 restored across the pond after being salvaged from Egypt many years ago, unfortunately its mistreatment didnt
end there and for many years in the USA it languished half submerged in water (read rust).
The 2 brothers did a meticulous restoration and now she looks a real winner, with scarcity of proper parts in the USA
they made the bushings themselves and replaced the bearings when they rebuilt the Gearbox which was in surprisingly good
shape - another example with the unusual 3 stacked rifles embossed logo as featured on our rare bits pics page.
Things like footrests have now been acquired and the restoration is nearing completion, I hope you will agree with me
the overall effect is mighty pleasing.
I particularly like the Desert Rats 7th Armoured colour scheme - the chocolate brown canvas on the pannier bags also
compliments the sand paintwork well.
Pinup No4 And what a beauty probably better than it would have looked at the time, immaculate
paint scheme, meticulous attention to detail, Steve has excelled himself on this one, He admits thers still a few loose ends
to finish off like the correct footrest rubbers and a fixed lug on the back frame for the field side stand, but just take
a moment to take a look at the depth of fine detail and rare fittings that have gone into this restoration.

I have tried to point out the interesting features in each photo but things like the WD cycle pump under the fuel tank,
the large 3 1/2 gallon capacity slab sided petrol tank, even down to the Cadmium plated nuts and bolts used. All in all an
impeccable restoration and the nice thing to know is it will be ridden and used not preened and pampered. Steve has breathed
new life into an old warhorse, I hope he has many miles of enjoyable driving on it!
Pinup No3
In this the third Pinup bike slot a recently purchased WM20 belonging
to Kit Harvey long time military vehicle enthusiast now branching out with the first in his own stable of vehicles, Kit is
restoring his an area at a time rather than a total strip down, not to be scoffed at if you have limited facilities, funds
or detailed knowledge.

As Kits restoration doesnt have its own page (yet) updates to his restoration will be added here.
Week 2's pinup bike is submitted by Colin Smith of Derby
in Derbyshire, Colin purchased his WM20 as a running concern but is still having a few teething problems which I hope we're
helping him get sorted out. After much faffing around with the carburation the Magneto is now being viewed under close scrutiny
as the possible culprit of the troubles.
The WM20 is a 1942 machine but in common with just about all WD M20's it has been
retrofitted with later additions, nevertheless Colin has saved himself a lot of hard graft taking the ready built option.
I believe Colin may be joining full fledged as a participant in the Berlin trip
- welcome aboard - the more the merrier.
Inaugural week
Week one's Pinup bike is an M20 from Malta, with matching engine and frame
numbers this beauty was built from parts and camouflaged in the uniquely distinctive rocky camouflage only seen on WD vehicles
based in Malta.
Clive the owner is also restoring an Austin Utility - also sporting the rocky camouflage pattern - nice one Clive. Thanks
for permission to use the pics!
In closing I must also add Clive has a quantity of mint unissued bits and pieces for British military bikes - most notably
